Leather Massage Chairs In The Modern Office World

Modern offices contain many ergonomic features. It is not at all surprising to see custom keyboards placed in front of computer terminals, desk phones with special handsets, or offices with footrests or exercise pads. More and more busy offices are now including leather massage chairs in that list. A leather massage chair might once have been an upper level management perk and called an executive leather massage chair, but no more.

Modern office managers have come to realize that maintaining the health and well being of employees has benefits beyond complex insurance equations. Well treated employees make more productive employees, which has a noticeable effect on a company’s bottom line. Keeping employees happy used to mean bonuses, or raises, or perks like discounts at the gym or local social events. Those are still popular incentives. But a leather office massage chair can now be added to that list.

These chairs give workers an opportunity to relax while continuing to work. The massaging feature eases away tension and stress, producing happier, more productive employees. This all happens without the need to take a break or step out to some other location, and so productivity continues without any interruption. The massage mechanisms themselves have advanced significantly in the past few years. Massage chairs used to be noisy, cumbersome contraptions that buzzed and performed a superficial massage by vibrating.

Modern massage chairs, however, feature heat and interior rotating surfaces to give deep shiatsu massages. They can be set to customized intensities and heat. Most are programmable and can perform massages in waves or other repetitive patterns. Individual features can be turned on or off, allowing the user to customize the massage into almost any configuration desired. Leather office chairs aren’t extravagant items. The cost of leather is comparable to other chair covering materials if you consider that it is more durable than cheaper fabrics.

Leather massage chairs are well designed and constructed of quality materials. They will certainly outlast cheap plastic and fabric constructions many times over. When viewed over the expected life cycle of the product, these chairs compete favorably with other types of chairs. And even though they are no longer considered to be executive items, there is no doubt that leather chairs still remain a status symbol to workers. The purchase of a leather massage chair is a sound choice from a purely economic standpoint when the life cycle of the item is compared against a cheap plastic chair, but employees rarely stop to calculate economics when considering an office chair.

They certainly won’t do so when enjoying an invigorating massage in a leather chair. The fact that the chair is leather will be enough to enhance the employee’s feel of worth to the company, and will show that the employee is appreciated. Providing leather office chairs to all of the employees shows that the company values all employees, and creates a positive feeling about the company. It is this good will, this intangible value that produces more loyal and more productive workers. Small businesses have known this for years, and now larger businesses are taking advantage of leather massage office chairs to make the same statement in modern offices.
